People choose to eat healthier in a lot of different ways Clean, Whole30, Paleo, Organic, NON GMO, Vegan, Gluten Free, Ketosis, Low Carb, High Protein, Low Calorie and there are so many more. I chose Real Food because it is a food list I can enjoy without feeling deprived. I can have wine, coffee, tea, dairy and bread. I am fortunate to not have to worry about food allergies.
It makes sense to me that food should be simple, with a short list of recognizable ingredients, unprocessed or minimal processing, unrefined… the way God intended it.
My preference, whenever possible, is to go locally grown, Organic and Non GMO project verified. I want grass fed or pasture raised and following the guidelines of Real Food. But sometimes you can’t find all of the above and must make a choice between organic/non-GMO and Real Food. I have decided based on what I know today to choose Real Food locally sourced as far from GMO’s as I can get even if it means not completely organic and then keep looking for a better choice that is Real, Organic and Non GMO Project Verified.
One of the reasons I started this blog is because I couldn’t find a list of brand name foods that qualify as Real Food. The foods listed here are real (or I truly believe they are.) They are also foods I have eaten that I like and would recommend. They come from brand names I trust. And if I find out a brand can’t be trusted they will be removed from the list.
