One of my favorite things to do is find a recipe and play with it to make it my own. I love AllRecipes.com and learn so much from the comments and reviews. There are a lot of people us recipe-tweakers out there.
Here was my find today.
I cooked three slices of uncured bacon. (Wellness Meats pasture-raised, uncured bacon to be exact.) Removed bacon but kept the grease and added two diced organic green onions and one minced large organic garlic clove. Sautéed until translucent then added two of the bacon slices crumbled, 1/4 cup Acadia Organic Dijon mustard, 1/4 cup Brags Organic Apple Cider Vinegar, 1/4 cup Rigoni Di Asiago Organic Raw Forest Honey. [Using white wine vinegar and orange blossom raw honey would change the flavor completely.] sauté on low heat until completely blended.
For my salad I used Organic baby spinach, Organic grape tomatoes, organic baby Bella mushrooms, about an ounce of organic Gouda cheese cubed, one cage free hard boiled egg (from our chickens,) one slice bacon crumbled, organic slivered almonds. (note to self: next time add almonds to the hot dressing)
This made plenty of dressing for two good sized salads. Yummy!!!
